The response this year has been off the charts, and we’re officially capped out. While we can’t fit any more teams onto the sand, we’d still love for you to join us on the day to soak up all the Spogomi vibes. Come down to Manly Beach on August 30 and cheer on the teams!

Every piece of rubbish collected prevents it from flowing into our oceans, making a tangible difference for the planet.
Form a team of three and pick up rubbish within a designated area. The type of rubbish collected will earn your team certain points. Your team will have one hour to pick up rubbish and you must follow the rules! SpoGomi Referees will be monitoring each teams. The team with the highest point wins! But watch out for any disqualifying antics!
The competition is open to Australian Citizens or Australian Residents with a current valid passport expiring after May 2026. Children under the age of 18 years must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or a supervising adult.
The SpoGomi World Cup will be held in Tokyo, Japan. Winning teams representing 20 countries will compete for the prestigious SpoGomi World Cup 2025.
The winning team of three will receive a free trip to Tokyo to compete in The Nippon Foundation SPOGOMI World Cup 2025 representing Australia.
Teams of three have one hour to pick up rubbish within a designated area. Points are awarded based on the type of rubbish collected. SpoGomi Referees monitor teams, and the team with the highest points wins, provided they avoid disqualifying actions.
Participation is open to everyone, including friends, family, community groups, schools, and local small businesses from Sydney. All ages are eligible, though participants under 18 require a signed parental/consent form. Teams with members under 18 must include an adult (over 18), and for those under 12, a parent or guardian must be a participant in their team.
Teams consist of three participants.
